Definition: Perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors that are beyond normal human behavior and experience. Delusions, hallucinations and disorganized speech and behavior are positive symptoms.
Also Known As: psychotic symptoms
Examples: Two months on antipsychotic drugs reduced the intensity of Darla's positive symptoms so that, although she still heard voices, she understood they weren't real.
