Delusion

Definition: An unlikely, false belief that persists even in the face of contrary evidence, which is usually accompanied by agitation and obsession. Many people with schizophrenia suffer from delusions.
Examples: Carey's delusion, that the college President was trying to frame him for cheating, persisted even after the school administration assured Carey that no accusation had been made.
