Email Your Guide

I hope you're finding the information you need here at the About.com's Schizophrenia website. I scour the internet and search for the latest schizophrenia research to find information that you can really use, whether you are dealing with your own illness, want to help a loved one, or need information for your profession or education.

The schizophrenia forum on this site is a great place for you to ask questions, initiate and participate in discussions, and share your experiences. This is your site, and your voice is important. I hope you'll bring your questions and share your experience with other people who understand. The schizophrenia forum is a growing community that you can ensure reflects your needs and your interests.

Here's the URL address of the schizophrenia forum http://schizophrenia.about.com/mpboards.htm

Here's how to join the forum:

Go to the About Member Center. You may access it by clicking the link at the upper right of the forum. Or you may use this link: http://membership.about.com/

Once there, just fill in the info and hit "Submit." If your member name is already in use, you may have to choose another one. Otherwise, that's it! You'll be taken to the forum.

About privacy and anonymity. If you will feel more comfortable, you are welcome to register with a fake name, fake email address, and/or fake birthday. If you do, you should write the information down, so that tech support can help you with a forgotten password. There are advantages to using your real email address. No one will be able to see your registered email address, but if someone wants to contact you the email will be forwarded to you anonymously.

I hope you'll join us. Receiving and sharing support is so very important for people with schizophrenia and their families!

Before you contact me by e-mail, please read the Frequently Asked Questions below. Remember, too, that I am a research psychologist, not a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist; I'm not able to provide medical advice.
